Lee J Rowland, the eminent English designer has designed the ‘Pipeline One’, a remarkably artistic desk, part of the Wave Series and looks almost otherworldly. Pipeline One is a permanent installation piece and uses advanced polymer engineering. The Pipeline One is polished and machined to almost unrealistic levels of visual perfection though the idea remains true to realism as was originally intended.

Using deep aqua tint UV stable polyester resin, Lee has captured an image of disturbed fluid surfaces in a way that borders fantastic and the realistic. Even small undulations of the fluid movement have been captured and the resulting desk looks almost frozen in time, and like the wave stopped rolling and stopped midway at the surfer’s beach. Lee has designed the pipeline series with luxury bars, hotels and lobbies in mind.

However I feel, the Pipeline One can be used as a desk at most ultra-modern offices, receptions and even at art based events. Lee hopes to create many more Pipeline like designs that are more realistic than their predecessor. The Pipeline One costs £ 28,000 and upwards. I would recommend these pieces of art to anyone who has an eye for aesthetics and values the unique combination of art, science and functionality.
