LG and Samsung Unveil OLED TVs

At the CES 2012, LG and Samsung have unveiled their OLED TVs with 55-inch screens. Sony also has announced its 55-inch prototype called Crystal LED. The OLED screen, with a lighting of sub-pixels gives you more control over color and contrast. There is a lot of difference between millions of elements of OLED screen and the conventional LED-backlit which numbers in the tens or hundreds. OLED’s production cost is very high but with white OLEDs there is much reduction in the complexity of the process, even with increased power use.

Generally the LCD display is achieved by using LED power reserve for LED televisions. We have seen at sports stadiums the big screen technology where each pixel acts as an individual LED. Now, we could enjoy the technology of crystal LED display in our living room. The new prototype display offers more improved version regarding quality for consumers.

One hundred and eighty degrees gives better viewing angle, there is substantial savings of energy than traditional LCD display using LED generated power. The mounting of light source on the front of the monitor in impressive manner, improves efficiency of the light offering color range,   higher contrast proportion, better response time, greater refresh rates in a red-green-blue formation compared to present plasma and LCD displays. The prototype design will produce 400 nits of luminance. Sony will have to work with great care to release the “Crystal LED Display”   in the market prior to Samsung and LG’s grip in commercializing their products. Nobody knows about pricing as it is yet a prototype.
