Mobile phones come in all shapes and sizes but it appears as though the prototype of a mobile phone is so fixated in our mind as a rectangular piece that we can never conceive of a phone shaped otherwise. Proving us wrong is the LG Oyster Mobile which carries a delicately curved shaped inspired by savoury sea creatures.

The LG Oyster Mobile can be slid open along its curved lines much like an oyster opens up to reveal the pearl that it hides within it. The concentric lines also carry a sense of mussels and oysters, after which it is named. Designed by Kenny Lohr II, the LG Oyster Mobile is made from high grade plastic with a layer of translucent areas that shimmer from the LEDs within it.

The internet enabled phone has an OLED screen that makes viewing of photos, videos and browsing a truly pleasurable activity. It appears that the LG Oyster Mobile is still currently in the conceptual stage but when and if it does reach production, this would not be a very affordable mobile phone.
