Pico projectors have been the “in thing” for quite sometime now and the good news is that Light Blue Optics has raised $15 million and is developing its first touch enabled pico projector module. It would most probably be released in the 4th quarter of this year. The company has also developed what is being touted as the “holographic laser projection technology”.

The cool thing about this is that it is not just a display but it is smart and interactive as it is touch sensitive. It supports WVGA-QVGA images at 10 lumens and the software is cool enough to correct any kind of optical aberrations that may result.

It is indeed a great step ahead and with that kind of money being invested in it, it really is something! I would say, one shall have to wait till the fourth quarter to realize its potential and its awesomeness as a product. Let us just wait and watch! You never know, as this might turn out to be the new way of using laser optic technology.
