Jim Glynn of Sukle Advertising & Design has created copy for an interesting ad poster. The poster belongs to a gym which encourages ‘Fitness Together’. The Ad copy screams “Like showering with other dudes? Go to the gym.” The copy is definitely controversial and will set of heated debates about its propriety.

However, the copy is not only comical but will definitely catch the attention of its target audience: urban gay men. It also further suggests that ‘private training gets results’ which is rather misleading. If you were being shouted at to go to the gym so that you get to shower with other guys, and at the same time get your gym owner rich, why would you ask to be trained privately?

The copy is unfortunately misleading and does not take the viewer anywhere and leaves him more confused than he ever was as a teenager checking out dudes in school. It does grab the attention of the viewer but misguides by stating that private training gets results. Unfortunately, the copywriter may have run out of lines to get the real message across or was just feeling too, well gay. Or maybe, he likes the idea of showering with just his personal trainer.
