All right, so finally the world of search engines is going to be visibly shaken to is very core, if the highly speculated internet search deal between Microsoft and Rupert Murdoch’s comes through. In the latest Microsoft v/s Google saga, one of the oldest internet entities, Microsoft Corporation has been in intense talks with one of the biggest media conglomerates. News Corp, owned by the media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch.
Now what kind of a complication could the Microsoft – News Corp deal arise, is very clear. If News Corp agrees to the terms of the deal, then it will remove or deindex its websites from Google, making them virtually non-existent in the Google world. Then Microsoft will come in the arena with its Bing search engine and acquire exclusive indexing rights from News Corp, thus boasting the ownership of all News Corp websites’ update, as it would be sole search engine that users will turn to for some of the most reputed websites in the world.
Moreover, if Microsoft-News Corp deal exchanges money, then the whole situation could take a very ugly and an incredibly steep turn. A race for the search engines that would eventually lead to a de-facto state of war between the two of biggest names in the search industry, Google and Microsoft. There have also been updates that, Microsoft is in talks with other online publishers, in an effort to make them realize the potential of a single search engine providing their websites to the world.
With these negotiations, Microsoft intends to persuade these online entities to let go of Google and provide sole indexing rights to Microsoft Bing.
