At the DEMO Spring 2010 event, a Hong Kong based company, MEDL Technology, specializing in portable consumer electronics has unveiled the prototype version of the world’s very first portable LED monitor, called simply ‘The Panel’. The all new potable LED monitors is a 13 inch and 2.2 lbs lightweight display and is targeted at both business professionals and the casual consumers.
The all new The Panel is being said to be of great advantage for the students and the those consumers who travel frequently, as the device can be easily attached to any computer and has been designed and developed for both work and general purposes. This all new portable display is designed for both Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac operating systems and comes with a common USB connector, that enables the panel to be attached with a computer in less than ten seconds. This new device has a battery life of five hours and sports WXVGA resolution and provides incredible LED clarity, screen resolution and high definition display.
One of the most intriguing aspects of The Panel is that, instead of binding the device to a laptop or to a computer, MEDL Technology has designed it to be fully compatible with a multitude of mobile platforms, such as portable video players, cameras, DVD players, iPhones, iPods and gaming platforms such as Xbox and PS3.
According to Eric Liao (CEO, MEDL Technology),
“The technology wasn’t available previously to manufacture an elegant, lightweight and durable, portable display; but with The Panel, anyone can add a second or third monitor to their laptop and easily pack it up and go. Our vision is to make life easier for the laptop-toting public and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to launch our first product at DEMO.”
