Megan Fox

Says Megan Fox whose celebrity image is that of a foxy sex bomb, “All women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. You’re sold, and it’s based on sex. That’s OK, if you know how to use it.” And she knows how to use it, alright. She adds, “When I sit down to talk to men’s magazines, there’s a certain character that I play. There’s something so ridiculous about always being in your underwear in those magazines, and you know the interview is going to run opposite those pictures.”

Megan Fox is Hollywood’s current favorite sex symbol. She also admits that she has ‘manufactured her own image, creating a character to play in the press because “I’m not willing to give my true self up. Who is that true self? It’s not the next Angelina—comparisons to Jolie are “the bane of my existence,” she says—or Julia Roberts. “I’m 23. I don’t belong in a romantic comedy yet. Those movies are very safe.”’

A good part of the manufactured foxy vixen image, and alongside the pictures featuring her in scant clothing and provocative gestures, is an endless stream of quotes that the movie press and Internet blogs eat up. ‘None of these comments were accidental. All of them made the Hollywood press, especially on the Internet, swoon. Some of Fox’s comments may have been fiction, but most seemed startlingly honest and entirely quotable. Fox, who is 23, understood instinctively that noise plus naked equals celebrity.’

‘With Fox, it’s not a conversation but a presentation.’ Megan Fox, according to Megan Fox, is all an act made for Hollywood that reinforces stereotypes and prejudices.
