Facebook announced it will offer “memorials” profiles to the profiles to friends or relatives that have died.
The site leader in social networking invited users to report when any of its users to die, to remove sensitive information such as updates and contacts, according to the website of the newspaper The Guardian.
For this, however, it will need proof of death, as an obituary or a newspaper clipping. After the page is turned in memorial profile, only confirmed friends can view and leave messages of remembrance on the page. Users will also be prevented from eventually to be signed in this profile. Users had complained previously about automated messages sent by the system indicating profiles of friends or relatives who had died. These reminders are often used to suggest profiles of people possibly known.
The idea of offering this type of profile of honor came after the death of Max’s best friend Kelly, head of security for Facebook. The friend, who died in a motorcycle accident, was also the official at the site.
To resolve issues of deceased users on the Internet services, “virtual inheritance” as the British Legacy Locker have won more than 1,500 users.
