
Mercedes-Benz USA is launching new campaign for its new 2010 E-Class model car which costs around $48,000. Well, it is difficult to sell cars during the times of recession, so Mercedes-Benz is investing some $75 million on a campaign which will project the new technology as the unique selling point. The new campaign will purely target the reason and rationality of buying modern car with best technology and not the vintage ones.
The TV spots and print ads by creative agency Merkley + Partners will highlight new added trendy features such as dashboard device that monitors driver’s alertness, automatic breaking system, lane-keeping assist, blind spot merger and other modern life saving technologies that have been incorporated in the new car.
The TV spots went on Air today and print ads will hit markets in August issues of Lifestyle, sports and travel magazines. Apart from these online and mobile marketing campaigns will be undertaken too. After all it’s a modern car so marketing has to break new grounds too. Moreover selling high end branded luxury car in recession times is a big challenge in itself.
