When Michael Jackson was accused of sexually harassing a kid, the psychologists who analyzed his state of mind during the trial clearly stated that MJ had the mind and mentality of a 12 year old kid. If the world needed any further proof of this fact, then just peep into the hidden toy Layer that Jackson had built up for himself and one immediately starts feeling for the King of Pop. He might have been a star and an entertainer like none other, but in his own mind Michael wanted to escape from the real world; always building up a parallel fantasy land that kept him happy and in a constant state of trans.
Hidden in his Neverland eastate, the secret layer of toy land is filled with C3-P0, Batman, and Darth Vader dolls along with some bikes, some Bruce Lee stuff, and a few Power Ranger figures. Many others exist alongside this fabulous collection and to top it all off, MJ had a separate Arcade game section. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind now that he wanted to escape the reality of the 90’s and wished to live as a happy child (now without the strict discipline of his dad) in the 80’s. It is probably this unique tendency to stay away from reality that allowed him to make revolutionary music that redefined the industry; a fascination for fantasy.
