Subway has finalized their partnership deal with Olympic star Michael Phelps. Will this go getter Beijing Olympic star replace good old Jared? So maybe focus of Subway’s health food will shift from weight loss to staying fit and healthy.
Subway has used athletes and sportspersons to promote their subs in the past too. Phelps probably will be best brand ambassador ever. He is someone who has a rare feat of 8 golds in Olympics after all. His words will surely work as magic. Calorie conscious, health and even sports freaks are all potential target consumers.
Subway seems to be unaffected by economic slowdown. It has quick health food for all pockets. Recently they came up with $5 footlong subs. People have less to money to spend, food prices are high and fine dining is becoming expensive. Quick food joints like Subways are bound to pick up sales. It seems there is surge in sales and double digit growth already. Michael Phelps will only take it much higher. Subway is all set to be trendier.
