msn Microsoft Gives A Facelift To MSN

The years old Microsoft Networks or more commonly known as MSN has finally been given some attention in the form of a facelift to the website’s home page. Microsoft had forgotten about MSN for a long time and people were beginning to doubt the necessity of MSN, but with this latest update to the web page, Microsoft has rejuvenated the idea of MSN being a critical asset to Microsoft’s online presence. MSN has been hailed as a foundation for all the traffic received by Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

MSN inspite of being largely in the back seat still owns considerable market value and has an astounding 600 million user base across the globe with 100 million additional users in the United States. As per estimates, Microsoft Networks is still considered to be one of the most widely portals in 25 of the 46 regions. According to Bob Visse (G.M., MSN),

“We believe it’s an important asset for Microsoft.”

The all new MSN home page will have reduced links than its previous version, thereby eliminating the congestion and clutter of the landing page of the website. Furthermore, Microsoft has also provided MSN with its own panel that, have various social networking links embedded in it, such as Windows Live, Twitter, and Facebook. Users can therefore post Tweets and write more stuff about their ‘Update Status’ for Twitter and Facebook.

In the year 2007, Microsoft had performed a radical turnaround to its Hotmail service, that eventually was brought to its almost previous state, as the users found it extremely intrusive and very hard to work with.
