It is a web based energy monitoring application which will sustain itself on advertising revenues. You would just have to enter your ZIP code and the residential details and you would get details of your energy usage. It also helps you to assess and take steps to minimize energy consumption. Though the site asks many questions, you could choose not to answer everything asked there.

Though it is a great service, people who have rented their houses may not be able to get the right information. Nevertheless, if you follow all the instructions Hohm provides, you can save up to $100 per month in energy savings. That would not only leave a slighter carbon footprint but also help you save energy and money.
