Microsoft is making an all out effort to revive its business. What’s the best way to revive than branch out into new business ventures hoping to count more profits? The next business venture of Microsoft would be retail chains shops selling Microsoft products. The timing of the launch is intriguing though.
World over retail shops are closing down due to global recession. Microsoft itself has announced job cuts in January and is planning to axe more employees in next eighteen months. Microsoft has faced a set back with its operating system Vista which turned out to be too slow. It has also pumped into advertising to target more sales. This retail shop is the next best bid to improve sales graphs. The shops will sell computers with Microsoft Windows operating system and other products. They will be world class signature stores.
Microsoft’s rival Apple already has opened its exclusive stores. So now it seems two giants will battle it out in retail playground too. With personal computer, digital cameras and other communication tools becoming household accessories they may not count losses at the end of the day.
