As per the latest survey results conducted and compiled by market research firm ChangeWave, Microsoft Windows 7, the latest operating system to hit the markets has given a significant boost to the corporate PC sales with 93% of the respondents stating their satisfaction with the new OS.
The corporate departments running the previous version of Windows XP are now rapidly switching over to Windows 7.
According to Paul Carton (Director of Research, ChangeWave),
“Previous ChangeWave surveys found companies deferring their PC purchases in anticipation of Windows 7. The latest results show the opposite now occurring.”
Of the total feedback, 10% of the corporate buyers stated that, their companies have already purchased computers pre-installed with Windows 7. While in the upgrade section of the survey, 3% of all respondents said that, their upgrade cycles have been significantly increased since the launch of the new operating system. However, 10% stuck to the fact that, Windows 7 has only modestly affected their upgrade cycles.
Since the launch of Microsoft Windows Vista OS, Microsoft Corporation had been under a lot of fire and the private as well as corporate consumer favor had taken a significant hit due to the highly intrusive and trouble filled Vista. However, since the launch of Windows 7 on October 22nd, 2009, 23% of the total corporate buyers surveyed by ChangeWave have assured that their companies are increase their IT spending for the first quarter of the year 2010.
