The Microsoft Windows (most widely used OS in the world) saw it market share reduced to 89.6% of users in the month of November. This year, the company had over 90% of the market, with small percentage changes.
According to data released this week by the company Net Applications statistics, is the first time in history that Microsoft’s operating system is below the rate of 90% in consumer preference.
Among the most widely used operating systems, the Mac’s competitor grew just over 0.8% on the month of October. But the Mac’s operating system which can be used only in those computers manufactured and marketed by Apple Inc are not a threat to the hegemony of Windows.
The transition to more users, however, occurs on Windows platforms themselves: while Windows Vista, the newest company, for the first time exceeds the rate of 20% of users, the XP reduces its membership to just over 66%.
Moreover, the advance of Linux can be noticed in several places in the world because, besides the increasingly attractive interface and ease of use, governments also are beginning to replace their platforms to cut costs and increase the security of their systems. Countries like France, China and Brazil and even Cuba are migrating to Linux.
This would be the beginning of the decay of Windows?
