International rescue teams have rescued some 130 survivors from under the rubbles and each one of them is a miracle survivor of the devastating earthquake which killed more than estimated 120,000 people, injured millions of others, destroyed entire city of Port-au-Prince and pushed Haiti to the brink of abyss.

The most recent miracle survivor is 22 year old Jean-Pierre who was pulled out after 11 days from under the rubbles of Hotel Napoli. Amazingly he seems to be doing fine except for dehydration. Rescue teams have rescued another young man Emmanuel Boso, 21, who had to drink his own urine to survive for nine days before he was rescued. The youngest one to come out alive is a toddler Mia and oldest one is 84 year old woman. These are all true stories of human courage, strength, survival instinct, strong hope and effort of International teams in the face of this humanitarian crisis.

It is impossible even to comprehend what these courageous people must have endured during the time they were stuck under rubbles- alive but unable to communicate or extricate themselves. They were lucky ones but hundreds who could not be found or rescued have got buried alive.

Rescue operations are coming to an end in Haiti after government’s announcement and now efforts will focus on more than 2,50,000 injured. Now also comes the long difficult phase of rebuilding the nation in all respects. Will Haiti rise like Phoenix from all ashes and destruction?
