PayPal, website that allows the transfer of money between individuals or merchants using an e-mail address, therefore, avoiding traditional methods as checks, it is not subject to the bank legislation for not being a conventional bank.
As PayPal does not have relevant or strong competitors, it exercises a monopoly in its niche. And the lack of competition is never a good thing. And maybe for not having competitors, PayPal, without any warning or explanation feels free to make changes without previously informing its own users.
The list of complaints against PayPal is big. Accusations on arbitrary freezing of accounts, frauds committed by employees and low level of securityy are quite common.
Now the last controversy involving PayPal is the new fees that are being charged when its users transfer money to other accounts. Even if they have a personal account.
Although most of the users of that service still have not noticed that there were more changes, little by little a related dissatisfaction appears to the way like PayPal treats its users.
Any serious company should inform their customers or users on important changes that have direct impact in the offered services. And that unhappily this is something that PayPal doesn’t do.
