The world has been battling with the swine flu over the last couple of days. 226 people have been confirmed with the flu across 30 states in the US alone. Other countries are taking tough measures to keep the infected people in the quarantine as well. Mexico, where the flu originated reported that the rate of new infections is slower. The World Health Organization has already raised the risk level to the maximum on its six point scale. This is an indication that the flu has spread across different regions.
The nations across the world should not put up a complacent attitude and be prepared for the swine flu outbreak although the Mexican government confirms the slower rate of new infections. WHO reported that as high as 985 people from 20 different countries have been infected so far.
The Mexican school, institutions and business were shut and the government is yet to decide when they can resume work. President Felipe Calderon also expressed his displeasure against the “discriminatory measures” taken up by the government of some countries against Mexicans by placing them in quarantine even though they had not contacted the flu. The Mexican government has planned to send a plane to Beijing to get the Mexicans caught up there.
