Well, tech big wigs and designers firms have long embarked on a mission to transform every object that has a technological side to it into something bizarre and not-seen-before. But Native Union, a Hong Kong based design firm had a different plan. Its latest offering, the Moshi Moshi Handsets, makes one reminisce over good old days when conversation pieces like Telephones weren’t miniaturized into compact cellphones.
This phone receiver may look far less practical to someone with a huge tech fetish, for it’s a relatively big piece of device when speaking of cellphones. Well, the makers had a different idea behind this. They thought this would be an excellent accessory to have around when people are just lazing at home or being stationed at their workplace. It doesn’t suffer from a disadvantage of landlines, like limiting your movement or something, just that folks might feel it to be little big to hold it on the streets.

Native Union intends to rejuvenate the goodness of retro styling in the way we use phones at home and work. It has Bluetooth 2.1 which means it can be synced in with multiple devices and when you’re call traffic is zero, these could be used as speakers. The makers have tossed out 4 versions, each differing in price and their relative functionality. Starting from $200 version which includes a docking station plus an iPhone stand, the lineup ends at a bare bone model for $30. The entire range is expected to hit the retail shelves by next month.
