
Apple Inc has announced that the much awaited Table PC, that Apple had been working on for some time could be available in for commercial retail by the holidays season. The all new Apple Tablet PC is expected to feature a 10-inch touchscreen. This device has been developed quite on the principles of iPod Touch ad would feature web accessibility, a dedicated browser with other features as well including access to Apple App Store. The only feature that is believed to be missing from this brand new gadget is the possibility of making phone calls, like in an iPhone.
Many experts believe that, Apple has a long standing experience in the field of mobile devices, and music players that would give it edge in competing in the field of tablet PCs, where many Silicon Valley giants such as, Microsoft etc. have failed even after repeated attempts.
Apple has been planning to offer a host of new services on its new tablet PC, such as interactive booklets and liner notes, that would be available to users, whenever they buy a music CD. Some of the recording industry behemoths like EMI, Sony Music, Warner Music and Universal Music Group along with Cupertino company have been in a project with Apple Inc, known as “Cocktail”, that will provide this feature to the users.
The all new Apple Tablet PC is expected to cost about $600 to $1,000 and according to Yair Reiner of Oppenheimer & Co,
“I think it will have a lot of the functionality of the iPod touch, but will be quite a bit bigger.”
