
Windows search function and file management can be awfully confusing and inefficient too. For instance, in order to retrieve files, Windows can take ridiculously long periods. MuCommander, a freeware can be used on not only Windows, but also on Linux and Mac. The software supports 21 different languages and you can go ahead and drag, drop and hack within a command shell.
FTP file management was also never so easy thanks to MuCommander. Another interesting feature of the software is that it lets you browse through archives like ZIP files, WinRar and also ISO, without having to extract them in the first place.
It is sort of funny that for most software problems that are created by paid services, the solution almost always comes from a freeware. Another example? How about FireFox?
