Either Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is already senile (that’s understandable at his ancient age) or he is really just a mouthpiece of his military junta and political cabal. He has been ranting and raving about the enemies of his state while turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the objective and sordid reality of his land.
One of his latest anti-West rants is an accusation (yet again) hurled at Western countries that, he says, seek to divide the fragile national unity government formed in February with his opponent Morgan Tsvangirai who is now Prime Minister.
It seems that Mugabe has accused practically everyone and some more, except himself, for the demise of Zimbabwe, the state. The allegations of gross violations of human rights and non-compliance with the principle of good governance, according to Mugabe, have provided ammunition to the West and their media dedicated to tarnish the reputation of his country.
He blames other people for the division in Zimbabwe. Mugabe, then, must have been living inside a cabinet for failing to see that what happened to Zimbabwe has been largely due to his greed for power, glory, and hard cash.
Of course, the West will always be Mugabe’s enemy because China will forever be his ally. Practically everything in Mugabe’s Zimbabwean administration is ‘made in China,’ so they say.
