National Geographic Channel seems to have given their ‘High Definition’ technology a simple definition on Lisbon streets. They have put up transparent rackets with words ‘”O Mundo como ele é” meaning “The world as it is”.
NGC HD doesn’t need a large scale campaign to get viewers. They have always enjoyed viewership of knowledge seekers. This is a subtle reminder that it is one channel which strives to bring in world into our homes as it is. Maybe with ‘High Definition’ they’ll improve digital imaging for their channel. But NGC has always brought world to us with much clarity not only through their channel even through their magazines. They have been our extended lenses, bringing the unseen, beautiful and ugly world in our view without any bias.
The campaign does send a clear message across about the motto of NGC HD. Also here transparency concept has been used for real unlike the fake campaign of Sony PSP which created buzz on internet few days ago. It says a lot about integrity, consistency and ambition of the channel.
