Beauty may only be skin deep but there is no reason not to take pride in one’s beauty. Until now, eunuchs of India have been unable to participate in beauty competitions but that is going to change come February. Filmmaker Ganesh Kharwar is organising a beauty competition especially for eunuchs.

Nazakat Queen 2010 would be held in Goa in the month of February and auditions for the pageant would be held in 9 cities (Bombay, Meerut, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Bangalore) starting from January 5. The top three finalists would compete against each other in the grand finale at Goa and will be seen with professional female models. The runners up would get cash prizes of Rs.75,000 and Rs.1.25lakh and the top prize for the Nazakat Queen will be Rs.2.25lakh.

The contest would be a great platform for organisers and participants to highlight the plight of eunuchs and would give the participants a much-needed opportunity to flaunt their beauty. The top three finalist also win the chance to feature in Kharwar’s new movie on transgenders to be titled ‘World Third, Human Third Sex’.
