Yet another product design from the creative, yet practical-minded team at Canedo Studio. The Gladiat8r helmet is a concept clearly inspired from the protective gear worn by the gladiators of ancient Rome. Awed as we are by that era and its people, this helmet does give us a chance to taste a bit of adventure. About the actual utility of the product, it does manage to score heavily on one point – which riders always hold against the conventional helmet i.e., It’s not heavy!! Its weight is distributed across the entire surface, a carefully spaced “ribcage” ensuring the shades remain in place during use. At the same time, it also reduces friction from the usual support areas such as the nose-bridge and ears.

The frame comes in 3 different sizes and is adjustable through a range of rubber attachments that brace the ribs on the frame. The ribcage approach also provides much-needed ventilation during the hot summer days on road and saves you from the sweat-head look on removing the helmet.

Love this product for its urban street-smart looks and functionality. But cannot imagine a scenario when an accident or bad fall may actually cause the helmet ribs themselves to slice through the skull!! Give me the heavy, dreary conventional helmet any day!
