The rumored Apple Tablet PC has not only made the users speculate day in an day out about the device but now, it has also got the publishing houses in the U.S on the negotiation tables with Apple Inc. in effort to secure content publication for the Apple Tablet. One such name is the renowned publishing giant, HarperCollins Publishers, which is a subsidiary of News Corp. has also been known to be in talk with Apple so as to facilitate the launch of its e-books on the device and at the same time, creating some dark waters for Amazon.
As per the sources close to talks, the deal hasn’t been finalized yet, but HarperCollins could very well be deciding the price of the e-books available for the Apple Tablet, while Apple, would simply be enjoying a share of the sales. Apple. Inc has already sent out invitations to the press for the launch of their “latest creation”, which is many strongly believe is the long overdue Tablet PC. HarperCollins believe that, e-books that are bundles with advanced multimedia and social networking capabilities would prove to be a much bigger selling point than the current generation conventional e-books.
One of the most selling e-book readers, Amazon Kindle, that had somewhat revolutionized the e-readers is apparently going to lose the race of the being one of the hottest selling e-readers, as the device lacks two crucial factors, i.e. color and video capabilities and this could prove to be the downfall of the Kindle, even if the Apple Tablet could cost $1,000.
