In the battle to combat the AIDS and HIV, scientists at the Canadian University of Western Ontario have come up with an all new HIV/AIDS vaccine, known as SAV001H that would help millions, if approved by authorities.
In collaboration with Sumagen Canada, a subsidiary of the Korean pharmaceutical company, the SAV001H vaccine was designed and developed by the scientists at the University of London. The vaccine has produced highly successful results when given a test run on animals. The test subjects showed satisfactory anti-body reactions without any side effects whatsoever.

With the successful trials of the vaccine on animals, Sumagen Canada has now approached the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), seeking permission to begin the first phase of human trial of the SAV001H vaccine.
Before taking the vaccine to the FDA for human trial authorization, the developers of the SAV001H vaccine have already completed the critical immunogenicity study, that gives an estimate of drug’s ability to to activate the immune response from the human body, Along with immunogenicity, scientists have also completed the necessary safety studies for the vaccine.
In its bid to be the first commercial manufacturer and distributor of the SAV001H vaccine, Sumagen Canada has already acquired the necessary patents for the same in over 70 countries, including the European Union, Korea and the United States.
According to Yong Kang (Microbiology Professor, University of Western Ontario ). if and when the vaccine is approved for human trials, then the markets can expect the SAV001H vaccine to be commercially available in the next decade or so.
This vaccine, if proven successful in human trial would be a God sent boon to the AIDS patients all across the globe. As of now, there are over 33 million HIV/AIDS patients along with 2.7 million people contracting this disease every year.
