The Mozilla Foundation released images of a preview of what would be the appearance of Firefox 4.0. The changes in the program interface give more emphasis to the tabs that are above the taskbar.
The provisional format is very similar to Google Chrome, which uses the same arrangement of elements, but in a less angular way. Tabs invade the space of the title bar of the window, which helps to increase the usable space in which the pages are shown – a very welcome change.
But the comparison does not stop there. The design presented by the Foundation shows two buttons on the right side of the address. A tool and other options for the page, very similar to those produced by rival Google.
According to WebWare, the decision to change the position and highlight tabs is just to make the interface simpler, besides the obvious release of space.
The developers opened the action for discussion in the Mozilla Wiki page regarding the project. There users can throb on the position of the elements and to suggest the integration of new elements and existing plugins.
