Ever since the demise of pop legend Michael Jackson, his death investigation has risen more questions and doubts than answers. Today, U.S Drug Enforcement Administration or DEA announced that, it will be officially joining the investigation alongside other law enforcement agencies.

This latest development comes in the wake of speculations that, drug use or drug abuse might have a role to play in the death of Michael Jackson. Michael’s family has canceled any public or private viewing of the King of Pop’s body at his private ranch, Neverland. Citing no particular reasons, the family hasn’t disclosed as to when they plan to put the body for viewing by friends and fans.

Another controversy that is circling the media is the case of Michael Jackson’s will. Although, in his will, Michael has left all his assets and his entire estate in a family trust, yet the fact remains that the trust mentioned in the will isn’t registered with Los Angeles Superior Court.

According to Sarah Pullen (DEA),

“We routinely offer assistance to any agency regarding the Federal Controlled Substance Act. However, at this time, we have nothing further to comment about the death of Michael Jackson.”

DEA officials and agents are likely to join the investigation and would be interviewing and investigating Michael Jackson’s doctors. The investigation would include the doctors’ practices and the source of medications that were prescribed to Michael Jackson.

Police released a car on Wednesday belonging to Michael Jackson’s personal cardiologist, Dr. Conrad Murray. The car was impounded by authorities on the citing the vehicle as possible evidence, presumably related to prescription medications.

According to Murray’s lawyer,

“Based on our agreement with Los Angeles investigators, we are waiting on real information to come from viable sources like the Los Angeles medical examiner’s office about the death of Michael Jackson. We will not be responding to rumors and innuendo.”
