If Nissan would have its way, we might soon se cars that would not need to be charged with the help of wires. Nissan apparently has already developed a technology for cars where they can be charged wirelessly. In fact, the technology has already been used and is being tried on their Zero Emission Vehicle.
Nissan is also planning to bring the wireless technology to a new super level. They are planning to create wireless charging bays which means vehicles would get charged as they drive. Nissan does not know how much it might all cost or how long it might take, but it is scientifically and theoretically possible.
The ZEV by the way is a cool car that can reach a top speed of 90 miles per hour which makes it a great car for even country roads. The car is deliberately conventional in style and they did not want to shock their consumers. The car is expected to be in UK by 2010 and would be available in UK and in US even.
