No More Radiohead Albums In Music Stores?

The leading man of Radiohead band Thom Yorke made this shocking annoncement recently. Nope, the band has not stopped rolling out awesome music its only that they are moving ahead with time and experimenting with singles-only download and EP formats.

Clearly this is a clever move in the digital era where people are hooked on to downloading music from the internet. It could one of the ways to curb online piracy too. Moreover even the iTunes music store allows single track downloads of the entire albums, so why not come up with awesome single songs which can be downloaded easily? Afterall even in albums not all tracks become equally popular. Radiohead’s recent tribute to World War I veteran Harry Patch has been offered as a single only download, the proceeds of which will go to the British Legion.

Some of Radiohead fans may feel disheartened. There is nothing like many tracks, long playing DVD which belts out one number after another which one can enjoy on a long drive or at home on a quiet evening. Hope Radiohead will spring another surprise by collecting these singles together and making collectibles albums for die-hard fans.
