Keeping up with the competitors is a tough job. Nokia proves that the best way to stay on top of the market is to provide unique services their competitors would probably kill to get their hands on.
The latest venture being undertaken by Nokia is the Nokia Home Control Centre featuring a platform for users to integrate home security needs along with energy management. The best thing about the platform is that it can be accessed via a smart phone carrying the application or a PC. The Nokia Home Control Centre allows you to keep a check of and control the electricity usage within the household giving you the ability to play God with devices switching them on or off as desired through your phone. Even the security measures of the house would fall under the realm of the Home Control Centre which would be able to rule over cameras and motion sensors. Teppo Paavolo, VP, Head of Corporate Business Development, Nokia, believes the uniqueness of the service lies in its ability to provide an easy solution to controlling a varied range of home systems which, though tried earlier, had appeared impossible till now.
In collaboration with RWE, Europe’s biggest energy companies, Nokia aims to decrease the carbon footprint you would be leaving in your household. And even if you are not green enough for this to matter, the decrease in your electricity bills would definitely interest you.
