Nokia & Vodafone Come Together to Launch Nokia N97

For some time now, Nokia has been fiddling with the idea of a ‘touch-screen’ smart-phone that would revitalize its market momentum and boost Nokia’s sale. Recently, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, a touch smart-phone that has taken the markets by storm. Then, it was announced that another incredible handset, Nokia N97 was all set to launch in the Indian markets. The price of Nokia N97 is Rs. 35,000/- though, the official price hasn’t been announced yet.

Today, finally, Nokia in collaboration with Vodafone India, launched this much awaited handset in Mumbai. It means that many of us who had been waiting to get their hands on this marvelous handset, would not have to wait anymore.

Nokia has tied up with Vodafone to introduce N97 in India. All the Vodafone customer who buy a Nokia N97 either from a Vodafone Store or from a Nokia retail outlet, they will be greeted with a 3 months long free of charge data plan. This freebie offer provides Vodafone customers with smooth browsing, faster downloads and uninterrupted online audio & video streaming, all free of cost, courtesy, Vodafone.

The tie up offer between Nokia and Vodafone is only available for Vodafone customers and can be availed from all Vodafone stores and Nokia retail outlets. Nokia N-97 and Vodafone package is also available at the multi-brand outlets in over nine cities, namely, Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.

Nokia N97 sports a 3.5inch TFT resistive touchscreen and the screen has an accelerometer that senses the phone’s position and auto-rotates the display accordingly. Even though it is a ‘touch’ phone, still it features a slide-out keyboard for effective typing. Nokia N97 also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack that supports all standard headphones and this also works as a TV out for both audio and video. Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G connectivity and a digital compass are the factors that make this smart phone so ‘wanted’.
