north korea nuclear warheads North Korea: Confirmed as Full Nuclear Power

While people were paranoid about North Korea’s nuclear warhead launch capability via long-range missiles, the country had been secretly working on reducing its nuclear warheads’ size to fit their loading on medium-range missiles. What’s more, the country has also developed capability for mobile launchers that can escape detection.

Experts confirm that North Korea, a country in poverty and largely needful of foreign aid, is indeed a fully capable nuclear power. The country’s nuclear armaments can now obliterate whole cities in Japan and South Korea. The Nodong, for instance, can reach Japan. The short range weapon called the Toksa can have speeds of up to 75 miles. The Musudan can reach US bases on the Pacific island of Guam. Nuclear warheads can now also be attached to medium-range Rodong missiles. It is estimated that North Korea has as many as 320 Rodong missiles.

According to intelligence reports, the latest advancement in North Korea’s nuclear warfare capability ‘happened towards the end of last year.’ This puts in another light the analysis and evaluation of any military strategy against the country. The erstwhile nuclear weapons development program is entirely different from the present full nuclear power capability. South Korea and its benefactor USA, as well as Japan, will now have to rethink their respective strategic stances against the communist regime in Pyongyang.
