Military officials would be pleased to know that a new ray-gun has been developed which promises to be more effective and lethal. Defense contractor Northrop Grumman developed a solid-state laser which can fire a laser beam of a huge potency, almost that of 105.5 kilowatts. It is a major milestone and also less noxious.
The company is also planning on an airborne laser which may help in war and battles. Pentagon’s Joint High Power Solid State Laser (JHPSSL) program really seems to be kicking off. I would say, such laser based weapons could be used in areas where humans can’t venture and where it is too hazardous.
It is not clear if this can be used anytime in the near future but it seems like the company may be able to find a contract in order to make sure the developed laser can be transformed in to a full functioning scalable weapon. Pentagon must indeed be bursting with joy with all these lethal weapons developing.
