Husqvarna, Stocholm based Swedish company is all set to unveil its solar powered robotic lawn mower this weekend at Green Industry and Equipments Expo 2008 at Kentuckty.
Automower solar hybrid can automatically mow up to half an acre of lawn and runs on nickel metal hydride rechargeable battery. If used in the sun it can actually draw solar power and save battery charge.
It has built-in safety features too. The robot has sensors for large objects and can automatically shut off its blades if the mower is lifted, can be locked and even has an alarm to deter theft. This should put an end to many a lawn mowing woes. One-time investment may be high but sun power comes for free and automowers do save time!
Of course traditional reel mowers bank only on man-power and can be a good exercise option for some. Yet it becomes a huge time consuming tiring effort if the lawn is big. This is a good green innovation. Protect and maintain your green acres without worrying about physical effort, time, and gasoline or carbon emission!!
