Microsoft will throw a version of its corporate package Office 2010 Starter for beginners, that will just have the softwares Excel and Word with only the so called “basic” functionalities.

Office 2010 Starter substitutes Microsoft Works and it will be available preinstalled just in desktops, notebooks and small portable computers – also known as netbooks – sold with the versions Windows 7 of the Windows operating system .

The new package collects basic functionalities of both softwares and it is returned to the user “that bought a PC for the first time and it still is not familiarized with the interface and the commands of Office”, it explains the the American company.

The limited versions of Word and Excel will allow the reproduction, creation and edition of texts and spreadsheets, respectively, for basic tasks, as it creates curricula, to manage the domestic budget, Microsoft says.

More sophisticated tools, as analyses of data with dynamic tables in Excel or definition of baseboard notes, bibliography and tables or attendance of changes in documents of Word will not beavailable in Office Starter 2010.

The initiative is the most recent Microsoft attempt against the software piracy and, according to Microsoft, it will “help the users’ great majority to have an original version of Office.”

The executive advances that tests will be accomplished before the release of the product, without detailing the process.

As well as the new version of the corporate package, Office Starter 2010 doesn’t have official date to inaugurate – Microsoft promises to publish a version of tests of Office 2010 to the end of the year.
