Twenty first century seems to be more liberal to designers who have wild designs in their mind. Take the 021c which was unveiled by Ford in 1999, with the help of designer Marc Newson. The car had swiveling seats, large doors, good specs and a great trunk. It was also meant to be affordable and gas efficient.
However, the design and the style of the car was such a turn off back then, that the car had to be shelved and it never made it to the conveyor belts. However, today, people have begun to appreciate that car and its design and it could perhaps be the liberalism and carefree attitude, which has come to rule the world again.
I personally do not think this fluorescent colored car looks great and the design simply looks childish and naive. Nevertheless, the fact that the car is becoming popular across Internet shows that people do consider designs that were launched years ago. Maybe this design will finally get a breather!
