Now that, AOL is all set to venture in the online world all on its own, the about to be independent internet entity has already taken the measures necessary to show to the world that, AOL is soon going to be free. It has been reported that, AOL has let go of its traditional triangle logo and has adopted an all new logo for itself.

The new AOL logo will be comprised of numerous automatically changing backgrounds, such as that of a fish, a skateboarder, a View-Master, a leaf, a lovable monster, a Polaroid camera, a high-heel shoe, a head-banging rocker and a kissing couple. There are also several backgrounds that have been designed to float around the web page and portray various animated creatures such as, leaping dog, balloons, a butterfly and a falcon.

AOL saw its golden years back in the 1990s era, when it was established as one of the premier and most successful internet service provider across the United States. However, in the past few years America Online (AOL) has witnessed a consistent slump in the popularity of its services and especially the revenue generated by its advertising campaigns.

According to Allen P. Adamson (Managing Director, New York Office, Landor Associates),

“AOL had such a clear meaning in the early days of the Internet. To re-establish AOL as relevant today requires a massive shift in what it stands for to be effective. Being around a long time in technology is already one strike against you.”

The Chief Executive Officer of AOL, Tim Armstrong has expressed his optimism in regards to the future of the company. In the month of September this year, AOL had hired the services of Publicis Groupe, that conducted a public survey including the employees and the investors of the company trying to establish the popularity of AOL. The survey results conveyed that, AOL will need to redefine its services and strategies and will also have to tune in with the times to ensure success of the company.
