Nuclear neighbors India and Pakistan are at loggerheads after the dastardly attack on Sri Lankan players. Pakistani minister, Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol told the Geo TV that the attackers came from the Indian side of the border and this amounts to “declaration of open war on Pakistan by India”. This certainly is a very scary situation for both the countries and both are armed to the tooth. Pakistan recently attempted to solve the Bombay terrorist attacks which the Indian government has maintained was a ploy by the Pakistani government.
Now, Pakistanis have seized the opportunity to blame India for the terrorist attack in Pakistan and even have used war rhetoric. Using such rhetoric can have disastrous consequences when both the countries are so very eager to go to war. Any such move would result in the loss of lives of thousands of people, as evidenced by previous Indo-Pakistani wars. However, the statement was printed on the BBC site and it can’t exactly be confirmed.
The condition in both the countries is really bad with Hindu and Muslim fundamentalists unleashing violence all across. The saner approach would be to be cautious, and avoid war rhetoric. Senselessly blaming India of launching an attack in Pakistan would only irk the nuclear country and would lead to a full blown war in South Asia.
