If you thought parking your bike was a problem, think about cities which are so overcrowded that there is no space for anything, let alone parking a bike! Tokyo is one such city and they now have a unique system to solve the problem of parking bikes. The Giken Company of Japan has a unique way to store these bikes when not in use for a few hours or even a few days.
Instead of having manned parking centers, the company has unveiled automated garages for bikes and even cars. What you would need to do is place your bike or car on a runway and in it goes. It goes into a deep abyss and stays there safe. It has even been tested for earthquakes which means, it is quite safe.
If you don’t want to trust a machine runway to park and store your vehicle, one couldn’t really say anything because the Japanese think this is a great way to save space and time. I think it is too! The service costs $30 and if you are a student you have to pay half of that. If this is a success in Japan, we can have these parking facilities in our large and crowded cities too.
