Tata Motors has finally launched its one lakh car, mainly targeted to the common man in India on 23 rd March, 2009. Nano was commercially launched in Mumbai and expecting the change in auto market in India.
The much awaited car was to provide ownership of four wheelers to the two wheeler segment in India who could not afford expensive cars. It was not conceived as being the cheapest car; however, the idea was developed keeping in mind the size of the pocket of an average Indian.
The Nano’s factory price is Rs.1, 00,000. However, with additional charges like delaler chargers and taxes it would come up to Rs. 1,30,000. A/C and other additional features are charged separately.
The booking of the car is expected to start in the second week of April. The delivery of the Nano may not be until the middle of the year. The experts are of the opinion that only 50,000 cars will be available in the first year. Due to the relocation of the manufacturing facility from Singur, West Bengal to Gujarat, the schedule of deliveries may be delayed.
