PepsoCo’s deal with Mumbai Indians for IPL Series

The Soft drink giant has teamed up with Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL series. PepsiCo today announced that it bagged the sponsorship rights for the Mumbai Indians.

PepsiCo also has the right to brand the uniforms of the cricketers of the team. It is also the official beverage provider for the team. In –stadia visibility and activation rights are part of the partnership as well.

PepsiCo India Executive Vice President-Marketing Sandeep Singh Arora said that they are thrilled to announce the partnership with the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. The IPL series has garnered a lot of viewership last year; hence, it is an excellent opportunity to leverage the brand mileage through this partnership. The spokesperson of the Mumbai Indians reciprocated that the team is equally excited about PepsiCo being their associate sponsor and pouring partner in IPL 2009.

The soft drink major is also getting ready with the communication programmes and promotion campaigns for the IPL series. It was a very good platform to communicate to the millions of cricket fans of India. After the huge success of its ‘Youngistan’ campaign in India, the viewers can expect equally intriguing promotional campaigns this time around as well.
