Joanna Krupas Nude PETA Ad PETA’s nude angel ad crosses Catholics for use of crucifix

Catholics slam Joanna Krupa’s nude PETA ad, saying that ‘the Dancing With the Stars alum uses a crucifix in a way it was not intended.’ PETA is back in the thick of controversy with the naked angel’s ‘racy, cross-bearing ad for animal rights.’

The Catholic League is said to be unhappy ‘that the Playboy model “exploits Christian symbols” by appearing as a nude angel covered only by a crucifix.’ Krupa, on the other hand, retorts, “It’s understandable that the Catholic League is wary of another sex scandal, but the sex we’re talking about pertains to dogs and cats.” The ad on billboards is a protest campaign against animal breeding.

“As a practicing Catholic, I am shocked that the Catholic League is speaking out against my PETA ads, which I am very proud of. I’m doing what the Catholic Church should be doing, working to stop senseless suffering of animals, the most defenseless of god’s creation,” she adds.

The Catholic League now calls PETA “animal killers” and “a fraud,” and accuses the group for ‘exploiting Christian symbols.’ Catholic League president Bill Donohue slams PETA’s latest ad, calling it a scam, with a statement over its website: “It would be hard to find an organization in the U.S. which treats animals more unethically than People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). In 2008, as demonstrated by the Center for Consumer Freedom, PETA killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care. Indeed, it killed an average of 6 pets a day last year at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters, placing only seven in adoptive homes. Between 1998 and 2008, it killed a total of 21,339 cats and dogs. To top it off, despite a budget of $32 million, PETA does not operate an adoption shelter.”
