If Christmas is the season of loving and giving, then the Pope must be celebrating some concocted evil festival of his own making today. The Pope’s annual Christmas address to cardinals at the Vatican this time was so rife with anti-gay sentiments that even religious authorities within Churches are frowning with disappointment.
It appears that the Pope is convinced that acceptance of homosexuality will not just lead the people to Hell but will result in the destruction of the human species. The Pope called out for respect to the ‘natural order’ of men and women; if only someone would tell the Pope that he is the one dealing out all the disrespect this time. Earlier this year, the Church managed to make it almost impossible for gay men to enter into priesthood by making it mandatory for all applicants to take a psychological test revealing their sexual orientation. With this move, they made it clear that a priest’s sexual preference is considered as far more malevolent than any antisocial behaviour he may show.
Churches over the world have dealt with accusations of child abuse by church authorities and paid the victims with money donated to the Churches by holy and respectable churchgoers and yet the Pope is still worried about homosexuality. Lord, what in Holy Heaven am I saying? We must understand the truth behind the Pope’s beliefs: Let us all forgive rapists and murderers and thieves for that is what the Lord expects of us. But dare you express affection and tenderness towards someone of the same sex; you shall burn in Hell for that!
The Pope’s comments haven’t led to a complete disruption in the trust people hold in religion and spirituality. A lot of people still believe he was not being anti-gay because he did not explicitly use the word ‘homosexuality’. However, his references to the book Humanae Vitae by Pope Paul VI in his address are enough to make his intentions rather obvious. With this cheerful Christmas message hitting the world barely two days after news of the revolting gang rape of an openly gay woman in California, the Pope couldn’t have thought of anything worse to spread hatred towards the pink community (Hey rapists, if you get caught then appeal to the Pope because he would forgive you for you are men and stuck to the natural order by raping a woman. Cheers!)
In the end though, this is Christmas so let us all wish the Pope a most merry Xmas and forgive him for he knows not what he does…

It’s tragic that the pope had to be so callous and inhuman towards his own species. So long as the society is ruled and dictated by terms of the religious minded, we shall continue to hear such remarks. In fact evangelists (the Catholic Church is very proud of it’s evangelical history) use and abuse people’s popular sentiments to promote Christianity. Pope did just that. When the woman was raped by men, it was an indication that it was a punishment given to a ‘gay woman’ and thus reflects the popular sentiments towards homosexuality. Pope knows what needs to be done to please the popular sentiments and thus spoke he. Good businessman he is. Or perhaps too senile. However, I wouldn’t give him the benefit of doubt and would rather believe in his evangelical expertize.
