President Obama’s Words of Hope in Africa

President Barack Obama’s visit to Ghana has been significant as he spoke the words of hope and encouragement to the sub Saharan Africa. He made it rather clear that although the painful history of colonialism still remains, Africa must take charge of its own destiny in this 21 st century.
The visit was right after the G8 summit in Italy, where these eight powerful countries agreed to fund $ 20 billion to boost agriculture, which is the main source of income in the African continent. The US President made it extremely clear that the density of the Africans was in their own hands. Extra importance was given to good governance, strong democracy, and incorrupt officials. Words of encouragement were spoken to build more strong institutions for the overall development of economy and public healthcare of the nation. Wise utilization of the scarce resources such as oil was to be kept in mind as well in the continent given the threat of climatic change.
Obama’s words of hope also urged the Africans make their nation free of conflict and disease, and make their leaders accountable to the wide population of Africa.
