After multiple security lapses on various international airports, numerous security experts have called for new and innovative means, that would increase the security at the airports significantly. Among other measures, one that has been in the new lately is the concept of reading a passenger’s mind as a security protocol, that would allow the authorities to apprehend the wring doers even before they have a chance to formulate their plans. This all new concept would even be able to outdate the current generation metal detectors and x ray machines.
Already, a n Israeli company, WeCU is working with the mind reading project and is currently the testing device based on this technology. WeCu’s device works by projecting the images and symbols associated with terrorist organizations onto the airport screens and then look for individual reactions, such as increased heartbeat, nervousness, faster breathing etc. If and when an individual seems suspicious or reacts in a different manner to the projected images, the authorities can then initiate further screen protocols.
However, the brain reading idea has found itself against a host of human rights and civil liberties’ organizations that have expressed their dismay over the concept and some of them are even horrified with the idea, calling it an equivalent to brain fingerprinting.
