Push the Button: Open Your House

Getting what you want at the press or push of a button. It is a rage among humans these days. With construction costs zooming and the globe going through its cycle of recession, you may still want to dream of a home that changes and gets fixed – at the push of a button, with its movable walls and floor! It may sound out of the world, but a new effort has made it look just that possible.

Originally displayed at Art Basel Miami, in 2005, the button uses a normal shipping container to use the existing living space.

Bedrooms and bathroom, kitchen and living are all accommodated in Adam Kalkin’s Push Button House 1 design. The house has the elegance of a cozy love nest and also the comfort of a luxury bachelor pad, replete with interiors and taste. The design shows that a little bit of thinking can go a long way in settling major issues. Designs that look seemingly minimalist, are indeed the best and most creative.
